DINOSAUR
1979

A punk-era, downtown snapshot of a  rock’n’roller, Terry Trouble,  whose quasi-philosophic mumbling and ramblings, and his band’s eccentric renditions of pop-music classics (This Could Be the Last Time, Wild Thing), merge in a swirl of black-and-white imagery. The filmmaker’s female gaze seems to engage erotically with male legs, mouth, and bared chest, yet what to make, at the end, of the guy-guitar hero picking his proboscis, ignobly scratching his basket?  Artistic genius, or lay-about slacker?
